Actually, just one day!

Under the influence of Mrs. Evelina from pousada 'Evelina', I crossed the border illegally on a motorbike – visas were obligatory for the Polish people in those days.

Trade was booming in the border town of Ciudad del Este. Arabs were in the lead. People say that you can buy cheap electronics there- but can you really?

Uruguay 6-12.1.2005 2011-08-16 19:59
A short rest after spending the New Year's Eve in Buenos Aires.

Uruguay – a strange country!
In Punta del Este, Uruguayan resort, people were swarming like bees and I could not find a singel free place in any of the hotels, just because Argentines had a holiday.
I walked the streets until the morning and took the first bus to Cambio Polonio, where it was supposed to be more quiet.
It wasn’t calm but charming.
No electricity and a lighthouse like from ‘The lighthouse-keeper ' (by H. Sienkiewicz).

Argentina 22.12.2004-6.1.2005 2011-08-16 20:3
Far too short, for such an interesting country.

Argentina has barely been glansed at.
First, Iguasu waterfalls, then the Jesuit missions and for a dessert Argentinian tango for full 10 days in the capital city…Fabulous!

Brasil - 4.11-21.12.2004 2011-08-16 20:9
From the hassle of Sao Paulo and divine beaches of Ilha de Grande to the Amazon jungle.

With these 'divine beaches' it’s a bit exaggerated. The sand was as fine as flour, so it was a nightmare coz it managed to get everywhere. Rocky beaches are definitely better.
The jungle was nothing special.
Nevertheless, going down the Amazon river is ethnographically and sociologically very interesting. Nature-wise it’s so so. But still, Brazil does have charm.
